Fern Flower tote bag
Tubular row by row
Overlay mosaic crochet:
Yardage (tubular row by row): 240 sts x 107 rows, approx. 550 m of C1 yarn, 650 m of C2 yarn. (601
yds and 689 yds)
Optionally, an additional 15 m (16.4 yds) of chunky yarn or your C1 yarn folded several times to finish
the handles.
My tote: C1 – Oxford Eco Cotton Baby – 78710 cream and Oxford Tarama Makrome (for braids on the handles)
C2 – YarnArt Flowers color 262. Hook 2.5 mm.
I used just over 3 skeins of Eco Cotton Baby (by Oxford, Turkey; one skein is 200 meters, 50 grams) and
135 grams of Flowers color 262 (by YarnArt, Turkey; one cake is 1000 meters, 250 grams).
I had some leftover Flowers yarn, so the blue part is shorter than if I had used a new cake. On average,
one color is enough for 6-7 rows. I crocheted 4 rows of each color, starting with the sand color, to make
the top of the bag pink.
For finishing the handles, I used 45 grams of Tarama Makrome (by Oxford, Turkey; 80 meters, 250
grams), that’s about 15 meters.
Interlocking filet crochet
Yardage (tubular row by row): 120 filet windows x 107 rows, approx. 550 m of C1 yarn, 650 m of C2 yarn. (601 yds and 689 yds)
Optionally, an additional 20 m (22 yds) of chunky yarn or your C1 yarn folded several times to finish the handles.
My tote: C1 – Oxford Eco Cotton Baby (by Oxford, Turkey; one skein is 200 meters, 50 grams) – bright light green. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you the color code, since this yarn doesn’t have it on the labels. C2 – Oxford Eco Cotton Baby – I guess color 1140. Hook 2.5 mm.
The width of the bag is 44 cm, the height is 40 cm.
I used 3 ½ skeins of C1 yarn and a little less than 3 ½ skeins of C2 yarn.
For finishing the handles, I used C1 yarn in three strands.
