This rectangular shawl employs two traditional “fern” lace motifs from the Shetland tradition: Mirrored Fern (the borders), and Fern Leaf (the center). The borders and center are knit straight through with no grafting required, and the edging is knitted onto the finished body. The pattern is suitable for different weights of yarn, and for an adventurous beginner.
