This is the perfect sweater for all ferret lovers!
This is a sweater in a rather unusual cut. The sleeves form a yoke up to the collar. The back and front sides are knitted as square pieces that are hanging down from the yoke.
Most parts of the sweater are made in beige reverse stockinette stitch, but the decorated fields are in stockinette stitch with light beige background.
Along the sleeves there are big footprints in a 12 cm broad field of stockinette stitch that continues over the shoulders, the yoke and up to the neck, so that it looks like the ferrets have walked up to cuddle around the neck.
The ferret is made with 5 different colours (background not counted), so it’s a bit thick. Hence it almost feels like there is an actual ferret sleeping on your chest when you’re wearing the sweater. :-)
Originally I intended to stitch whiskers on the ferret’s nose, but it already looked so very alive, that I didn’t dare; If I had made it more realistic, it would practically jump out of the sweater! ;-)
The pattern also describes a hat made as a sweatband with a flat top. If you want to, you can make only sweatband with-out the top.
