“This wrap pattern was designed to give knitters several options for construction and size. It is recommended that you refer to the diagrams when choosing the version you would like to make. Version A is a simple rectangle that features a triangular garter stitch inlay; Version 2 is an L-Shape that features an arrowhead garter inlay centered over the shawl’s “spine”.

Each wrap includes a wide or narrow version to choose from and the optional mesh extensions may be embraced or ignored (knitter’s preference!). I like having options – and so hoped to provide you with some as well.” – Grace Anna Farrow

CONSTRUCTION

• Rectangular Version is worked in two pieces and grafted along a vertical axis at the center “spine” of wrap.
• L-shaped Version begins with two mirroring rectangles (worked separately). When pieces reach sufficient length, they are joined together on one needle and worked as a single shaped piece to form the tip of L shape.

MATERIALS
Version A1 (A2, A3, A4) – Rectangular Wrap:
975 (1430, 1560, 1895) yards of fingering weight wool yarn;
4 (6, 6, 7) skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Loft (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool; 275 yards/50g)

Version B1 (B2, B3, B4) – L-Shaped Wrap:
1480 (2160, 2070, 2630 )yards of fingering weight wool yarn;
6 (8, 8, 10) skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Loft (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool; 275 yards/50g)

GAUGE
Working Gauge:
16 stitches & 32 rows = 4” in Mesh Stitch with Gauge Needle; before blocking
20 stitches & 40 rows = 4” in Garter Stitch with Gauge Needle; before blocking

Finished Gauge:
16 stitches & 30 rows = 4” in Mesh Stitch with Gauge Needle; after light lace-blocking with blocking wires
16 stitches & 30 rows = 4” in Garter Stitch with Gauge Needle; after light lace-blocking with blocking wires

NEEDLES
One pair of straight needles or a 32” long circular needle in size needed to obtain gauges listed
Suggested: 4½ mm (US 7)
