I´ve had the idea of a comfortable and versatile cardigan combining the lovely colors of autumn. When I saw all the wonderful colors dyed by Sue from Positive Ease
I know I had to use some of them to realise my idea.

The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down to the bottom in half fisherman´s rib pattern.
Start with the upper back forming the shoulder slopes and the neckline with easy to work short rows and work it down to underarm length. When the upper back is finished stitches are place on hold. Then stitches for the fronts are picked up and both fronts are worked separately to the underarm length. After this the pieces are joined to continue working the lower body with the fun of fading the Colors and if desired incorporating the pockets. When the body is completed stitched for the sleeves are picked up around the armhole and the sleeves are worked down to the cuffs in rounds fading in the colors in the lower part of the sleeves.

Yarn: Any yarn with approx. (390-436yds/100g / 360-400m/100g) that gives you a proper gauge will work well.

Sample Cardigan is worked in size S worn with approx. 8´´ (20cm) positive ease.

Positive Ease – Pure Merino:
Main Color 3(3-3-3-4-4) skeins,
Contrasting Colors: 1 skein of each color for all sizes

Needles and tools
Size US4 (3,5mm): Circular needle, dpns
Size US1 (2,5mm): dpns for picking up sleeve stitches around the armhole (or longer circular needle same size if using magic loop technique)
stitch markers,
waste yarn or spare needles for holding stitches
9 buttons  0,83inches (21mm)

Ferun wird im „Half Fisherman´s rib“ Muster nahtlos von oben nach unten gestrickt. Begonnen wird mit dem oberen Rückenteil. Zuerst werden die Schulterschrägen wie auch der Halsausschnitt mit sehr einfach zu arbeitenden verkürzten Reihen geformt und anschließend wird das Rückenteil bis zur Armlochtiefe gestrickt. Die Rückenteilmaschen werden stillgelegt und aus der Schulterschräge werden Maschen für die Vorderteile aufgenommen und diese werden nacheinander bis zur Armlochtiefe gestrickt. Anschließend werden alle Teile verbunden und zunächst der Körper fertiggestellt. Das Einblenden der Farben kann jederzeit nach der Zusammenführung begonnen werden und die Jacke kann je nach Wunsch mit oder ohne Taschen gearbeitet werden. Für die Ärmel werden Maschen aus dem Armloch aufgenommen und die Ärmel werden in Runden gestrickt, wobei auch hier im unteren Teil wieder die Farben eingeblendet werden.
