Festive Christmas Stockings
Bring some traditional festive cheer to your home with these cute Christmas Stockings. Hang a family of sizes from your mantle to hold Christmas gifts, fill with chocolate treats to decorate your Christmas tree or why not add colour and create a pretty garland of tiny stockings to decorate your home.
This detailed pattern is available in 2 versions.
Version 1 (6 pages) is an adventurous Toe Up knit for those who are new to sock knitting. Interesting and unusual techniques are used in the construction including, turkish cast on, japanese wrap short row heel, latvian braid and i-cord bind off. This version is very detailed, written row by row with instructions for each needle given separately, it includes photographs, chart and links to helpful tutorials. If you are new to sock knitting, working Magic Loop, struggle to pick up the wraps of the traditional wrap and turn short row heel or perhaps you just enjoy trying new techniques, this is the version for you.
Version 2 (4 pages) is a quick and fun Toe Up knit for those who are confident sock knitters. Clear instructions and photographs explain techniques such as turkish cast on, jogless stripes, latvian braid and i-cord bind off. The instructions include links to helpful tutorials but are less detailed than Version 1, written with the assumption that you are confident with Magic Loop and in adapting the pattern to suit your favourite method of working in the round.
You can of course download both versions if you wish to mix and match techniques or build your confidence with Version 1, then move to Version 2 when you feel ready.

Although instructions are written for the Magic Loop method of circular knitting, the more experienced knitter could simply adjust the pattern to suit their preferred method, i.e. dpns or 2 x circulars.
Disclaimer
Although Jamieson’s of Shetland is the recommended yarn, photgraphs used in the pattern show the sample stocking in various yarn types/brands. A great stash busting pattern!
