I have always been attracted to “wavy” stitch patterns – Jaywalkers were among the first socks I knit, and I adopted the popular Chevron Scarf stitch pattern to socks as my very first personal design. The major complaint with “wavy” socks has always been the biasing that the stitch patterns create in the knitted fabric, which leads to some very strange fit issues (I have firmly established that it is not, indeed, possible to suck in your heels to get your socks on). I hope that you find my modest entry into this “wavy” subset of socks to be less biased and more forgiving when it comes to fit. May you never suck in a single thing to get any piece of clothing on, least of all socks!
