This pattern is a simple scarf worked flat in a “mistake rib” pattern.

The yarn used is Lion Brand’s new Fettuccini yarn, which is made of undetermined textile by-products. In less-scientific terms, leftover fabric is stripped and turned into a super bulky style yarn! This makes the yarn super unique. Pretty cool stuff!

Owing to the unique nature of the yarn, though, you will need two skeins of the same colourway. Since the yarn itself is not produced with specific colours – as with standard yarn – it’s best that you pick up two matching skeins of this yarn. Otherwise, you can go for complimentary colours, and alternate every odd-numbered row, carrying the yarn up the side.

The wearer could stretch the scarf “long,” resulting in a 6’/1.8m bulky scarf, or pull it “wide” to make a shorter thick cowl-type scarf. Either way, it makes a heavy scarf.
