I have always been a great fan of blue and white porcelaine. One morning I took a close look at my breakfast cup, and thought I would like to make a pullover based on the lattice-border and rose-leaves pattern of my beloved breakfast china.
The result is a lightweight, feminine sweater where the lace-pattern follows the front of the sweater as well as the slim-fitting sleeves, which I combined with the lattice-pattern to give structure, texture and harmonie.
The sweater with it’s rolled edges, lace, lattice, waist-shaping and a neckline that uses both eyelets and a simple crocheted border, has all the necessary attributes to become a real favorite for spring and summer.
Both the body and sleeves are knitted in the round and bottom-up until armpits, from where work is continued back and forth. Shoulders are seamed, sleeves are set in and stiches are picked up for the neckline.
The knitting would suit a knitter from advanced to experienced. There are no difficult stiches; all you need is a little patience when working at 27st to 4inches. The pattern throughout gives lots of knitting-interest - and the result is truly rewarding!
Choose a soft merino, cashmere, silk-blend, or even a cotton to work your sweater - and you will have a gorgeous garment to wear for years!
You can choose from 7 sizes. Allow about 1 inch of positive ease (unless you want a roomy pullover.) The instructions are in both inches and cm’s - and I give you row-by-row instructions and a chart for the lace-pattern, a chart for the lattice.
