Using your favourite lace weight yarn, this assymmetrical shawl is completely knit in garter stitch with two mosaic knit sections. Bound off with i-cord you can add tassels to finish or leave it as it is.
The mosaic part is only charted but there are enough instructions on how to read the chart so it is easy to follow even if you are not too familiar with knitting from a chart.
The wingspan of the shawl is (after blocking) 2.05 meter (80.7 inches). Feynan is knit in a main colour and 2 contrast colours for the mosaic part.
Yardage needed:
Main colour: 480m (525yds)
Colour 1: 348m (380 yds) - with tassels 385m (421 yds)
Colour 2: 273m (298 yds)

I recommend using a soft yarn for mosaic knitting, like in the sample shawl which was made using Nurturing Fibres Yarn in their Single Spun Lace.

Feynan is an area in the south west of Jordan and tucked in the Dana Biosphere Reserve.
Some might only see rocks and desert, but I see pink and white oleander and jojoba trees, butterflies and desert wasps building their nests.
Far away from any light and noise pollution this is where I recharge, breathe and get closer to myself.
Once a flourishing kingdom, it is thought to be one of the longest sequences of human settlement in the world where massive copper production played a major role. Today Feynan is home to a Bedouin community whose people are kind and wise and their hospitality and attitudes towards life is beyond measurement.

Dieses leichte, kraus rechts gestrickte Tuch hat zwei einfach zu folgende Mosaik- Strick Abschnitte und wird mit einem I-cord abgekettet. Die seitlich befestigten Quasten geben dem asymmetrischen Schal den letzten Schliff.
Der Mosaik- Strickteil ist nur in Strickschrift dargestellt, aber es gibt genug Hilfe wie gelesen und gestrickt wird

Einst war Feynan, dank des grossen Kupfervorkommens, ein wohlhabendes Königreich und gehört wahrscheinlich zu den ältesten, dauerhaft besiedelten Regionen der Welt.
Heute ist es das Zuhause einer Beduinengemeinschaft mit freundlichen und klugen Menschen, deren Gastfreundschaft und Lebenseinstellung unermesslich ist.
