Fhoghar Scarf
Tha na duilleagan a’ tuiteam leis an fhoghar
(The leaves are falling with autumn)
The word “Fhoghar” is Scots Gaelic and one translation is “autumn.“
Fhoghar Scarf is ideal for those colder autumn and winter days. It features a combination of cable and lace stitches to open up an otherwise dense cable pattern and making it more pleasant to wear.
The sample scarf shown here is made with approx. 770 yds (700m) of worsted weight wool mix yarn in rich, variegated autumn colours.
Finished measurements of sample scarf:
16.25” (41 cm) wide and 61.5” (156 cm) long after blocking.
The instructions are given for one size only, but the shawl is easily adaptable by working fewer or more repeats of the cable pattern.
Try other yarn weights and single colours as well, simply adjust the needle size and yardage requirements.
The instructions are given in the form of charts and as fully written instructions.
