The pattern has bands of color, graduated according to the Fibonacci series. That is, one row of white, then one row of blue, two rows white, three rows blue, five rows white, eight rows blue, thirteen rows white, and then the rest blue.

It requires one skein of each of the two colors. It begins on circular needles, but you will need to switch to either double pointed needles or use the “magic loop” technique when the rounds become too small.

The pattern guides a beginning knitter to use more advanced techniques to eliminate the jog in color changes, to off set the color changes between rows, and when to twist the carried yarn appropriately on the back side of the piece.
