Field of Flowers Lace Shawl
Field of Flowers is a rectangular shawl, knit all in one piece, incorporating traditional lace patterns of leaves and dayflowers.
The shawl starts at the bottom edging and then stitches are picked up from the long edge and the shawl is knit up including both side edgings for as far as you desire. Lastly the edging is worked across the top of the shawl.
Both charted and written instructions are included in this pattern and all wrong side rows are purled. My shawl blocked to approximately 68cm/27” wide and 124cm/49” long, however the final size will vary according to your own choice of yarn and needle, as well as your knitting tension.
I made mine with one skein of laceweight yarn (700m), but you can make this shawl as long as you wish. I think a longer shawl will really do this design justice, and if I were to make it again, I would use two skeins and do many more repeats. I used a silk laceweight yarn, but this shawl would look lovely in any fine yarn.
