The pattern for Fields of Barley was inspired by the I dried out head of barley lying on a stone. The piece can be worn either as a stole or as a scarf. Because it is done in double knitting, it is a completely reversible fabric, with each side a mirror image of the other. The double knitting technique makes for a thick, firm fabric which stays in shape. It is a versatile piece that can be used both for a casual look and as a more elegant accessory.

This shawl uses JW (jumper weight) yarn:
A: Bilberry Heath (200g)
B: Meadowsweet Heath (200g)

Needle size
3mm DPNs or circular needles.

Tension
22 sts and 32 rounds in the flat (after blocking) = 10 cm.
It is always wise to do a swatch to establish your tension; adjust your needle size accordingly.
