Reminiscent of fields of golden wheat standing tall in the sun, the Fields of Gold Cowl is a quick-to-make accessory that will give any outfit a summery glow. It’s worked from the bottom up in joined rounds, and the size can easily be customized by increasing the foundation chain.

Finished Size 37 ½“ in circumference and 19” tall.
Yarn Sugar Bush Yarns Cabot (70% Pima cotton, 30% linen; 291 yd 266 m/3 ½ oz 100 g): #9002 Wheat, 2 skeins.
Hook Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Yarn needle.
Gauge 16 ¼ sts and 9 rnds = 4” in patt.

This cowl is worked in joined rounds from the bottom up.

To increase the circumference of the cowl, add to the base chain in increments of two. Increasing by four stitches will add approximately 1” to the circumference. To increase/ decrease the height of the cowl, follow the pattern as written, repeating Rounds 3–5 until cowl reaches the desired height, then repeat Rounds 45–47.
