About This Design

This design is full of texture, shape and colour. When I was designing this sweater, the elongated puff stitches made me think of candle flames and the layers created by the back loop stitches reminded me of a cake. So, in my mind, this was a party sweater, ideal for baby’s first birthday party, hence the name ‘Fiesta’! I find the rhythm of crocheting puff stitches very relaxing; I hope you enjoy making this sweater as much as I enjoyed designing it.

The smallest size for this sweater is 6-12 months because the sweater has a multitude of puff stitches which aren’t comfortable for younger babies who are still spending a lot of their time lying down; this grown-up sweater is a rite of passage for babies who are now sitting up and perhaps standing and walking.

I’d like to say a big thank you to the wonderful individuals who tested this pattern for me.

I’d love to see a photo of your finished project and feature it on my social media. If you are happy to share, please send a photo to jochetdesigns@gmail.com
