BOLERO

This elegant lace bolero has a sheer transparent look for Summer, and a very soft drape that hugs the body closely. It has sloped shoulders, raglan sleeves, and a shaped waist, and it features tapered front ends that extend from the V-neck and may be tied comfortably under the chest or left to hang freely.

(1) A prescribed pattern with row-by-row written instructions and detailed stitching charts for fourteen adult sizes. The defined gauge for this pattern suits makers with normal tension.

(2) A recipe-style tutorial that can be used to alter the pattern for your own stitch gauge, and for any adult size and proportions. Alteration can be as easy as choosing a different garment size based on your back neck measurement. Or each part of the garment may be calculated, e.g. for a wider or taller body type.

CONSTRUCTION

The pattern ideally suits crochet thread #10 or a yarn of light fingering weight. The large open diamond mesh is easy to work, and an optional set of lace motifs allows a decoration to be incorporated using shell stitches. Proceed from the top downwards without seams, beginning from the neckline and simply working the components onto each other. Body measurements may be adjusted during construction if necessary.
