Shake, Rattle, & Roll!
Just like Transformers, this pattern is more than meets the eye! While you can use the stuffing of your choice, this pattern is also an egg cozy. So, you can use plastic eggs to make the maracas and use the same instructions to make pretty crochet eggs, too!
You can also leave off the handle to make cute rattle dancer dolls!
Size
Aprx 7“ tall with handle)
Materials
Small amounts of yarn in desired colors (med 4 worsted weight)
F Crochet Hook (3.75 mm)
Stitch Marker
Embroidery Needle
Plastic Egg (one per maraca) OR Stuffing & Rattle SEE NOTE
Plastic Dowel Rod (optional)SEE NOTE
Dancer Maracas:
red, black, brown, & tan yarns
2 beads, buttons, or embroidery thread for eyes
1 bead, button, or embroidery thread for flower center (optional)

Magic Circle/Adjustable Ring
Stitching in continuous rounds
Single Crochet
Double Crochet
Increasing
Invisible Decreasing
Chaining & turning
NOTE:
The pattern works with two sizes of large plastic eggs:
7 1/8” around X 4 3/8” tip to tip
7” around X 4 ¼” tip to tip
Or you can use poly-fil and a store-bought or homemade rattle (instructions included)
Recommended handle is a plastic dowel rod, but you can alternately use a wooden dowel or poly-fil and a firm center insert.
