Two pieces are knitted separately from one point to the other side in garter stitch. Then seamed together and turned it into a S scarf/shawl. With two safety pins, you can turn it into an asymmetrical shrug. You can make it bigger/longer by working more repeats. Any yarn and colour will be great for it.
Gauge is not important.
