The Fika jumper was designed during my 4 month trip in early 2023. I bought some gorgeous yarn in Copenhagen and proceeded to create and knit the jumper during my stay on a little island in Sweden where I discovered FIKA.

Fika is a typical Swedish tradition where you take time out of your day to pause and enjoy a hot drink and a snack. But it’s not just about savouring a good cup of kaffi (the Swedish word for coffee). Fika is a ritual that’s important in Swedish culture, giving yourself a moment to have a break and socialise.

I have made different versions of this jumper :
-Crew neck or High neck —> Both pick up the same amount of stitches on the same needles.
-Eyelet mock body detail in same quality of yarn as the rest of the jumper OR done holding 3 strands of mohair.

The jumper is a work top down on 6mm needles.
With a nice eyelet mock rib detail on the bodice.
The top of the body and the sleeves work flat and in the round in stockinette stitch which make it fairly simple and quick to knit. The eyelet mock bottom part of the body has a little more structure so it demands a little more work, but it’s simply 4 row repeat !!

I’m absolutely in love with this design and I hope you will be too !!

Happy knitting x
