For adults use a thicker cotton and larger hook and for children ( depending on head size, see measurements below ) just use a finer yarn and a smaller hook to make it fit any head size!

SKILL LEVEL : upper beginner, can do single crochet and double crochet and slip stitches.

ADULT : Will fit a standard size adult head approx 52 cm / inches if worked in DK (Category 3 / 8 ply ) cotton yarn with a 3.00 mm hook.

CHILD : Will fit a child’s head size cm if worked in fingering weight ( Category 2, 4 ply ) with a 3.00 mm and 2.5 mm hook.

3.00mm hook and 2.5 mm hook ( tension is deliberately tight to make the hat stiffer, if texture is too loose and floppy, go down a hook size )
