This pattern can be made using any gauge of yarn when paired with an appropriate hook (the hook size recommended by the yarn manufacturer should be fine). Larger gauge yarn/hook combinations will yield larger square. Likewise, smaller gauge yarn/hook combinations will yield smaller squares. Be sure to use the SAME GAUGE FOR ALL SQUARES!
