Filet crochet can seem a little daunting, I have put together a tutorial to show you how it works, how to do it, and a chart for a heart panel.

The panel, if made with DK Yarn and a 4.5mm hook works up to about 12” - you can make two for a cushion, 12 for a bedspread. You can reverse the chart too which looks equally as good when placed side-by-side in a throw.
