Filigree
The design:
Filigree is a modern twist on a vintage lace work stitch worked in a square from the centre out. It is an ongoing expandable pattern created by repeating a set of 10 rounds. This means you can make anything from a place mat to a bed spread depending on how many times you repeat the design. Filigree is an intermediate level pattern that requires a focus on concentration and counting.
Materials needed:
Filigree was designed to make a project of any size, using any weight yarn you would like. My sample is 55cm using 600m of Cotton King Twister and the round by round photos used 160m of Kartopu 8ply cotton and was 42cm after round 25. For a baby blanket I recommend 2000m+
Stitch markers.
Wool/darning needle.
Hook size:
3 to 3.5mm-4ply
4 to 4.5mm-8ply
Or the hook size you usually use for the weight of yarn chosen
Gauge: there is no gauge for Filigree, use the hook you are most comfortable using for the yarn.
