Filigree Lace Shrug
The Filigree Lace Shrug is both a little nod to historical crochet technique, and a fun modern way to add some flair to a cute summer dress or shorts and a tank top. It also works to add a layer of warmth to a long sleeved tee or blouse in the fall and winter months.
A unique foundation row, modified from a late 19th century handbook of needlework, forms the beginning edge, then gives way to a simple lace stitch with plenty of give, allowing for a comfortable fit, and opening up into a beautiful lattice pattern when worn.
The shrug works up quickly in DK or Sport weight, and several opportunities for customization are included - two neck/waistband options, and four ways to finish the sleeves.
Yarn estimates include the shortest amount for the XS size, up to the longest amount needed for the XXL.
