Messing around with stitch patterns while knitting a swatch for a larger item, I found I had pretty much made a short loop cowl. Once I got started, I couldn’t stop myself, DK, Aran, Bulky and Super Bulky versions soon followed.

About the pattern

The cowl is knitted sideways, starting with a provisional cast on or longtail cast on, then joined later either by Kitchener Stitch graft or a Three Needle Bind off/Cast off.

You should be able to stash bust (or treat yourself if you prefer) and knock up some great gifts either for yourself or someone knitworthy.

The cowl pattern has options for a short loop and long loop versions and the ebook includes suggested stitch counts for a variety of weights of yarns from 4ply/fingering up to super bulky.

There are two stitch patterns to choose from, you can use just one or both if you like. They are both reversible. The pattern is charted and also has written instructions for those who don’t like charts :)
