Finding Clyde Pullover
The Finding-Clyde Pullover is designed as a fun and satisfying project for a beginner/emerging knitter.
The pullover is knitted with two yarns held together: a classic DK (8 ply) merino and a lace-weight yarn (2 ply). This combination provides ample room for creativity, with colours and yarns able to be combined for a unique outcome each knit. The inclusion of the lace-weight yarn also provides opportunities to incorporate a beautiful hand-dyed yarn from your local indie-dyer/ yarn artist.
The pullover has a mock-neck (turtle neck without a fold down), and decorative panels down the length of each arm. The panels are created using knit, purl, and simple slip stitches. The outcome is a ‘faux cable’ effect but constructed from beginner-friendly and quick techniques with no cable needle required.
The Finding-Clyde Pullover is named after our first trip to a small town, Clyde (Otago, New Zealand), and my delight in finding a cute historic town with boutique shops and even a lovely yarn store. It was from this store that the yarn for the first test knit for this pattern was purchased.
