This patten uses a provisional cast on to create matching edges on the cowl. And the pattern is a simple 4 row repeat which is very easy to memorize.

If you don’t want to do the provisional cast on… no worries. Just cast on the same number of stitches in the pattern with your favorite cast-on and go straight to Rows A & B. For the bind-off, just use your favorite bind off.

I used a US 8 needle for this cowl for more drape.
If you’d like a more stiff cowl, just use a US 7 needle.
