“I love the Fine Feather Cowl, but I feel like worsted weight yarn is too heavy for me. If only I could make it in lighter weight yarn…”
Behold, the Fine Feather Cowl Lite! I have adapted the Fine Feather Cowl pattern to accommodate DK, sport, and fingering weight yarn, so you have plenty of options to choose from and even more ways to use up your stash. It uses the meditative Fine Feather stitch pattern that looks almost woven, and allows the yarn to shine.
If you have been eyeing one of the kits from the Frosted Stitch, then you’re in luck – they are also available in these yarn weights. I so hope this cowl makes you feel in fine feather.
This is an advanced beginner level pattern. Photo tutorials are included.
The pattern is written in standard US crochet terms. It comes in one size; however, it may be increased or decreased, as desired.
Dimensions:
- Circumference: 32” (81.3 cm) | 16” (40.6 cm) wide, laid flat
- Height: 16.7” (41.8 cm) for DK and sport and 20.4” (51 cm) for fingering weight
Here’s what you’ll need:
Hook: 3.5 mm hook for fingering weight, 4 mm for sport, and 5 mm for DK
Yarn: 3 skeins of fingering weight, sport, or DK weight yarn, corresponding to a maximum of 1286 y (1176 m), 974 y (890 m), and 700 y (640 m) of yarn, respectively
Fade kits for this cowl are available at www.thefrostedstitch.ca
Add both the Fine Feather Cowl lite and the original Fine Feather Cowl pattern to your cart to get them for 9$. If you already bought the original Fine Feather Cowl, you’ll get this for pattern for a discounted price.
