Lap Blanket (Small Throw, Large Throw, Full Bed)
English

This blanket is the perfect project for beginners that want to venture a little further beyond knits and purls. The blanket’s thoughtfully placed vertical stripes are created by holding a second strand of contrasting yarn together for some of the garter columns. The version photographed here uses low-contrast tonal color combinations for a poetic, minimalist effect. Bolder contrasts of color and value will play up the linear accents. The blanket features a clean slipped-stitch selvedge along either side, while the top and bottom edges are finished with a polished double hem (with clever corner-shaping details) for added durability and sophistication.
