Fingersmith
An updated/corrected pattern was uploaded yesterday. Apologies for any inconvenience.
From the pattern…
Sometimes I like my accessories to look “lived in”, loved, just shy of frayed around the edges.
Sometimes accessories are best when they tell a story with a little edge. I wanted a pair of warmers which looked serviceable yet had touches of finery. Something one would have had in better days. Something lacy but not really delicate, well worn but cared for.
I pondered several names but then Sarah Waters’ Sue Trinder and the legions of petty thieves and pick-pockets, the fingersmiths, who peopled her novel Fingersmith popped into my mind. It seemed the perfect fit.
Something one who lived by their wits would wear.
Fingersmith is offered in DK and fingering variations and sized for women’s m/l with sizng notes for xl/slouchy also provided. Worked in a solid colour (Americo Superwash Sport in Carnelian pictured) or bi-tone (di Crosa’s Zara pictured in red and purple), Fingersmith would also work well in a mohair/luxury yarn for a more delicate look.
Currently available for free during testing, Fingersmith will be included in the Urchin collection
