Finito
Thread for chat, help and pics: here.
The pattern contains instuctions to make a classic bottom-up cowl or a bias strip which can be either a scarf with slanted ends or kitchenered together to make a single or double loop.
NOTE THAT THE LACE IS ONLY IN CHART FORM - BUT IT’S AN EASY CHART TO READ AND THERE IS A THREAD TO HELP YOU IF YOU’RE NEW TO CHART READING - HERE.
Quote from one tester:
When I looked at the pattern today, I panicked a little because there were no written instructions. Actually, the chart is very easy to follow. I am converted, thanks to this pattern.
I found this stitch in Barbara Walker’s Third Treasury and loved how it highlighted subtle shading, so tried it with some Finito yarn I had been hoarding for “something special” - so now you have it FINITO - FINISHED.
I really like the way the stitch works the yarn and the yarn works the stitch.
It works well with Malabrigo, but also with any other yarn with subtle shading. I tried it with a highly variegated yarn, but didn’t like it so much; so I’d recommend:
solids
semi-solids
yarns with subtle variegations.
The pattern was originally written for Malabrigo Finito (fingering weight) but can also be used for DK/Worsted or Sport weight - just allow a little more yardage/meters.
The two sides are different - but both attractive.
