Who doesn’t need a pretty Christmas cardigan?
The cardigan is worked in the round, and then cut open. The body is worked bottom up, starting with a wide ribbing. Front, neck and arm openings are worked with steeks. You can choose between a deep or a moderate neckline, puffed or normal sleeve caps, short or long sleeves. The button band is crocheted, as is the neckline edging. Sleeve stitches are picked up after the armhole steek is cut open, and then worked top down. The sleeve cap is shaped using short rows.
If you don’t want the Christmas tree on your back, you can knit stars - or are they snowflakes? - all over.
The yarn Sølje is spun from «Norsk Pelssau», Norway’s only longwool. It’s a lovely, lustrous fingering yarn from Hillesvåg Uldvarefabrik.
