Finn is a happy-go-lucky guy. He enjoys watching Animal Planet and going for swims.

Finn is a good project for someone wanting to make a softie for the first time. He doesn’t have any complicated stitches (K, M1R, M1L, skpo, k2tog, k3tog). All of his parts are knitted in the round. His fins and tail are started with a few stitches and then increased. His body is started with a Turkish cast-on or Judy’s Magic cast-on. All pieces are knitted in the round. The scale pattern on Finn’s back is charted and included in the pattern, but is entirely optional.

The example Finn was knit with Cascade Sierra yarn (a light worsted weight) with US size 6 (4.0mm) needles. He’s about 12 inches from the end of his tail to his nose, and 10 inches wide from fin to fin.
