This unique beanie features a contrasting facing with a welt that serves as a border on the outside of the hat. I designed this hat for my adult son to wear in Sun Valley, Idaho. I also made one for my 10 year old grandson who wears it so handsomely on his skateboard. Three sizes are included in the pattern for you to choose from.

The hat can be made with a contrasting facing or all in one color with just about any nice DK or sport weight yarn. Be sure to check your gauge. You will need a small amount of waste yarn for the provisional cast on.

I used Jojoland’s Tonic, a very nice washable yarn, for this project. If you buy two skeins, you can make two hats by switching out the main color and the facing color.
