Finn's Rabbit Baby Blanket
I created this blanket for two of my close friends who have just had a gorgeous little boy. There’s a garter stitch border around the edge, colour work rabbits at the bottom and top and a repeating structural pattern for the main body of the blanket. I used the intarsia method when knitting the rabbits. This is so there aren’t lots of loops of yarn on the back that a baby could get their fingers/toes stuck in compared to doing fair isle etc. but you can use any method you prefer. I then used duplicate stitch to add in the tails on the rabbits and name. Once blocked, the blanket measured 87cm by 92cm, although this is easily adjustable and tips on how to alter the length, width and design are included. I have included a chart of letters and a blank chart of the right size for you to create individual names to add onto the blanket - please email me if you need any help with this. The gauge doesn’t really matter in this project so you could use any yarn you like – this will alter the final size and yarn requirements. I have used cotton as he is a summer baby and it is machine washable, but any type could be used. There are written instructions below as well as charts so you can use whichever method you prefer!
