Fiore, Italian for “blossom” or “flower”, is a lacy asymmetrical shawl. Beginning with just a handful of stitches, subtle color work stripes bloom into an addictive lace motif. The lace is deceptively simple and is finished with a ribbed edge and a picot bind-off.
To create an asymmetrical shape, a decrease and an increase are worked on opposite ends of each right side row.
Slip all stitches purlwise.
Work all yarn overs as double yarn overs. In subsequent rounds, knit into the first loop and drop the second loop off the left hand needle.
To work the stripes section, carry the yarn up the selvedge edge of your shawl and only break your contrast color after the entire section is finished.
