Fire Dragon Shawl
Dragons appear in so many stories from all over the world, and they have always fascinated me. They are magical, can spit fire, can fly, and depending on the lore, they have many other fascinating abilities. So, I decided to create a few designs inspired by them.
Fire Dragon is the first in a series of dragon inspired shawls and scarves.
This shawl featurures a dragon-scale lace pattern with garter ridges. The lace is a 16 stitch repeat over 10 rows. The half-pi construction means all increases occur in garter stitch, making this suitable for intermediate lace knitters.
Instructions about how to adjust the size or to make the most of a gradient yarn are included.
Materials :
700 - 750 m/ 765 - 820 yds of fingering weight yarn
3.5 mm/US 4 circular needle
Optional: stitch markers (up to 42 if you mark each pattern repeat)
Gauge:
17 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm/4” in garter stitch
Gauge is not crucial here, but it might affect the size of your finished shawl and how much yarn you need
Size:
142 cm / 56” across the top, 63.5 cm / 25” from center top to the bottom edge
This is part of a 5 pattern collection, which is available as an ebook for a reduced price
