Fire in the Sky Shawl
Worked from a gradient yarn pack, it can be fun to explore how colors combine along the length of this shawl. Go from light to dark, or mix them up. Another option is to use a large cake in a gradient yarn.
This shawl is worked in two pieces, beginning with the border in the darkest shade, then set aside. Then, using the lightest shade of the pack, start at the other end and work until almost all of the yarn is gone, leaving enough to graft the border to the shawl.
Change colors by working one-row stripes of both new and old colors for six rows (you can always do more if you like, but just keep in mind that you’ll need to allow extra yarn).
Gauge is not critical to this pattern, but if you use a different weight yarn and needle size, these will affect the finished measurements.
Size: 15 1/2” / 39.5 cm wide and 65” / 165 cm long
Yarn used is Wonderland Yarn Cheshire Cat 5-Skein Mini Skein Set, in color #56 Summer Sunset, 1 set.
