Any colours would be great. Any worsted/aran weight (#4) yarn should be fine.
I used Cherry, Pumpkin, and Yellow.

This hat is made using regular straight needles. The hat makes up quickly and can be completed in a day.
The crochet hook is optional (used for ties).
