Fireside
Fireside begins with a carefully designed twisted rib which flows beautifully into the cable pattern. The pattern of the hat features a mix of cables and twisted stitch columns and the crown shaping is integrated into the cable pattern. Please note that the cable pattern is charted only.
Gauge
29 sts and 30 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Fireside Cable Pattern knit in the round with larger needle after blocking
Base gauge: 22 sts and 30 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Stockinette Stitch knit in the round with larger needle after blocking
Obtaining the correct gauge is not crucial, but any differences will affect the size of the finished hat.

Toddler (Adult S: Adult L)
To fit 45.5 (55: 61) cm / 18 (21½: 24) inches head circumference
Finished Measurements
45 (54: 62.5) cm / 17¾ (21¼: 24¾) inches circumference at widest point, 17.5 (22.5: 25.5)cm / 6¾ (9: 10) inches height, slightly stretched. The sample is a size Adult S, shown on a 55 cm / 21½ inches head.
Yarn
Approximately 110 (170: 220) m/120 (185: 240) y.
Sample made with Eden Cottage Yarn Bowland DK (100% Wool; 224 m /245 y per skein) in colourway Steel.
Needles
· 80 cm/32” circular needle or 40 cm/16” circular needle and double pointed needles (dpns) in each of the following sizes: 3.5 mm/ US 4 and 3.0 mm/ US 2½ (or size to obtain gauge)
40 cm/16” circular needles and dpns are optional if you prefer the Magic Loop Method for working small circumferences in the round.
