This Poncho is a bit more than a poncho. With generous armholes and a swingy shape; one size will fit most. We had a wide range of different size/height ladies try this on, and it looked great. The bust size is 56”, overall length from neck to bottom is approximately 30”

Knit in pieces from the bottom up, the front and back are worked separately. Ribbing that wraps around the lower half is attached with mattress stitch. The shoulders are shaped with german short rows and the front and back are attached at the top with a three needle bind off. Sts for the arms are picked up and worked flat. Lastly, the cowl is picked up and worked in the round.

We used Cascade Aegean Tweed, 100% organic wool (in Olive) held double throughout. If you haven’t tried this yarn yet, it is soft and makes a wonderful fabric. (10 skeins total held double). We highly recommend it!

You may also choose an Aran weight tweed held single to create your own - we love the shade range of Tahki Donegal Tweed: 1640 yards

Needles:
Size 6 for the ribbing and cowl - 24”
Size 8 for the body, in both 24 and longer length in either 32-40 are used; or size to obtain gauge
Gauge suggested is for your larger needle size
