I designed this square for the Simply Crochet Granny Square supplement to celebrate Granny Square Day 2023!

The supplement for Issue 139 contains 52 different granny squares, exploring different techniques and stitches, by a whole range of fabulous crochet designers.

This square uses two colours, alternating between rows of front post stitches for the firework and filler rounds with back loop stitches in your chosen background colour.

DK yarn and 3.5mm hook produced a 10cm square.

Would look great as a component to any blanket, cushion or even a cardigan. I hope you enjoy making it! Do check out the other gorgeous designs in the supplement too.
