Celebrate richly dyed yarns with the Fireworks Cardi. This classic shawl-collared cardigan with 3/4 sleeves showcases worsted weight yarns and a variety of dye styles beautifully. Whether you choose a multi, speckle, solid, self-stripe, or tweed, this garment will look phenomenal! Choose a solid or tweed for a classic tailored look or a multicolor for a bold look. The allover star stitch texture looks like a display of bright fireworks and is just as mesmerizing to knit.

Construction Details:
The Fireworks Cardi is worked in 5 separate pieces with minimal shaping. The front pieces have tabs for the back neck to add dimension and shape to the shawl collar. Once the sweater pieces are seamed, stitches are picked up for the front band and neckline. Short rows are worked on the top half of the front band to create a shawl collar.

Gauge: 23 stitches and 22 rows = 4” in star stitch using size needle to obtain gauge. A swatch with 29 stitches worked in star stitch should measure 5” across.

Needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) needle or size needed for gauge, US 6 (4 mm) circular needle or one size smaller than size needed for gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Yarn: 2 colors of worsted weight (CYCA #4) yarn in the following yardage amounts:
Main Color (MC): 1025 (1150, 1265, 1425)(1675, 1875, 2075, 2225) yards.
Contrast Color (CC): 360 (375, 385, 400)(415, 435, 460, 465) yards.
