The difference between the firm sc st and any other sc st is the sc is worked through the center of the stitch instead of the regular way. This makes for a much sturdier piece of fabric.

Materials needed: approx 200 gr of worsted weight yarn per piece, needing for a little more for larger brimmed hat.
4.5 mm crochet hook. Pin to use to mark the end of the row.
Gauge: 3.5 stitches = 1” 4 rows = 1”
