Firn was developed in inspiration of the traditional Icelandic Lopapeysa we all know and love! Try knitting this in your left over Lopi yarn for an incredibly warm hat for the coldest days!

{FIRN: Partially compacted granular snow that is the intermediate stage between snow and glacial ice. Firn is found under the snow that accumulates at the head of a glacier.}

This Hat is knitted in the round with stranded colour work technique. Colour-work section is charted. An additional fill-in-your-own colour chart provided, so you can envision it in your own custom pallet!

Sizing:
Child ( 50cm-53cm / 19”- 20”)
Adult Small (54 cm - 58 cm / 21”- 22”)
Adult Large ( 58 cm- 63cm / 23”-24”)

Notions:
Darning needle for chunky yarn
Yarn snips/scissors
Stitch marker

Needles:
5mm / US8 Dpns or circular
5.5 mm / US9 Dpns or Circular
(You might consider moving up a needle size for your stranded colour work section to obtain gauge)

Gauge:
