Firn Capelet
A versatile accessory, this hood/capelet combo will prepare you for anything the cold season throws at you. It can be worn under a winter coat for extra warmth at the neck and shoulders with the hood up or down, or it can be thrown on over a top for an extra layer all on its own.

Yarn Scheepjes Whirligig (80% virgin wool, 20% alpaca; 1,094 yd 1,000 m/16 oz 450 g): #202 grey to blue, 1 (2) cake(s).
Hook Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Stitch markers (m), 5; yarn needle.
Gauge 16 sts and 11 rows = 4” in post st patt; 8 sts and 18 rnds = 4” in capelet patt.

Garment is worked in one piece from the top down, starting with the hood. The hood is worked flat, and the remainder is worked in rounds.

The textured side (or back) of the V-stitches will show on the outside of the capelet.

When working into single crochet V-stitch, work in first single crochet only unless otherwise indicated.

When working into fan, work in first and second single crochets only unless otherwise indicated.

Capelet length can be adjusted by working fewer or more repeats.

If working larger size, alternate cakes as needed to continue gradient effect.
