First Baby Doll kp2615
A darling doll with broad appeal and a super fun knit for you. Baby and sleeper are knit complete, all in one piece and stuffed as you go-when you tie off the last leg she is done. No fiddly finishing to do!
Starting at the neck with provisional cast-on the head is knit first, face details are embroidered, the hair curl and flower knit and sewn to head. The stitches at neck are picked up, collar crocheted on using simple crochet stitches and the rest of the doll is knit top-down and in-the-round. Done!
Intermediate level: uses provisional cast-on, kitchener stitch, knitting-in-round, perfect for magic loop, duplicate stitch, french knots
NOTE: If you want to use a heavier or lighter yarn go down in needle size from recommended size on the yarn band to get a tighter knit fabric, keeps the stuffing from showing. Your toy will be larger or smaller. At gauge 26sts and 36 rows to 4” she will be 12” tall
Materials: head & hands* - 65 yds of KnitPicks Comfy Sport, Flamingo; sleeper - 100 yds of KnitPicks Comfy Sport, Peony; trim - 15 yds of Simply Cotton Sport, Haze Heather; hair curl - 5 yds of KnitPicks Simply Cotton Sport, Reindeer Heather; eyes and mouth - 1 yd each sport weight yarn; 2-3 oz Polyfil® Silky Soft fiberfill; optional: natural bees wax crayon to tint cheeks
