First Class Illusion
or buy the pattern at Payhip or LoveCrafts
This image seemed very appropriate in this Diamond Jubilee year of Queen Elizabeth II. The inspiration for the design comes from a first class British postage stamp. Using DK yarn and 3 mm needles the completed illusion measures approximately 32 inches (80 cm) by 27 inches (68 cm) and uses about 460 yards (420 metres) of yarn in each of two colours. It can be made in any yarn though this might change the overall size.
Designed to be viewed from the side the illusion is intended as a wall hanging or the centre for a bed cover.
One of the photos shows the piece when viewed from directly in front.
King Edward VIII Stamp is a companion piece to this. They can be seen together in one of the photos.

More than two years ago Ripley’s Believe It or Not acquired First Class and we finally got round to seeing it in situ. It was very difficult to get photos due to the strange lighting in the room.
