There’s a tradition in Scotland known as “first-footing”, in which the first person to cross a home’s threshold brings the residents good luck for the coming year. My stepfather’s family took his father’s scottish tradition of first-footing and married it with his mother’s Scandinavian tradition of Glögg, which is a mulled wine spiked with a heavy dose of Akvavit. A cup of which is guaranteed to warm every first-footer’s toes after their journey across your threshold.

The First Footing Infinity Scarf was inspired by the mixing of these two traditions that have become part of our own family’s holidays each and every year.
